    We did it!!

    By Bethany | February 23, 2008

We beat the Ottawa Senators, which is pretty awesome, BUT what is really cool, is that we got the 200th win in franchise history.  To be honest I was a little shocked that Pazzy was in goal, but I suppose it’s something I should get used to.  He was good in Ottawa and hopefully will be on top of his game tonight in Montreal.  The player of the game would have to be Nikolai Zherdev.  How good is Z?  VERY good.  I’m beginning to crave that top line center…but am willing to wait until July 1st to get em.

What I don’t understand is why we play so well against these teams that are so much better than us…I mean last season we did the SAME thing.   We played a horrible game in Toronto, and the next day at practice Coach Ken Hitchcock walked out of practice, in an attempt to send a message to the team.  Here’s what Hitch had to say about it:

“Yeah, it was risky,” coach Ken Hitchcock said last night. “But I had to make the call. And I thought we had reached that point in our season.”

Hitch is the best Coach in the NHL…think about it.  He’s perfect for a rebuilding team, and a perfect fit for our franchise I have always thought that.  He knows what to do to spark a team.  Well he did it.

The team apparently discovered Emery’s weakness STICK SIDE!  All four goals were scored there.  The team played as a team and was rewarded by winning in a shootout.  Yup it went into a shootout, and we beat em.  Shocking I know.  Anyway, that’s all I have.

RICK NASH! That was awesome the way he just skated at Emery and made him his bitch. Totally, totally awesome.

DUDE!! It was beautiful!! The article the Dispatch did on the game was hilarious!! Here it is…
“To be honest, what we saw on film is that (Emery has) been struggling with pucks in his pad,” Nash said. “All four of our goals were scored, though, on his stick side. On my shootout goal, I didn’t want to go back there again, but it was there, so I took it.”
Poor Emery now everyone knows his weakness HAHA!!!

He looked like he was going to score from the second that he started skating. I think the biggest change I have seen in Rick Nash this season is his confidence. He’s much more confident than I remember him being before.

Kirsten, yea it’s been amazing to watch him develop as a player since Hitch got here.

I’m so proud of him, it makes me want to pinch his chubby little cheeks…or um, do other things.
