Pre-Game Chi-Town

So, tonight the Columbus Blue Jackets are playing the Chicago Blackhawks, in what Aaron Portzline described as an ‘epic battle’. Is it an epic battle? Nope not so much. BUT, if we win, according to Portzie, it will be the fourth six point road trip in franchise history, he even shows when they were:
2006-07, Nov. 28 to Dec. 9 (five games), losses in Vancouver and Calgary, followed by wins in Edmonton, Colorado and St. Louis.
2003-04, Jan. 2 to Jan. 15 (seven games), win in Tampa Bay, losses in Florida and Colorado, OT win in San Jose, ties in Los Angeles and Anaheim
2002-03, Jan. 8 to Jan. 13 (four games), wins in Minnesota, Vancouver and Calgary, loss in Edmonton. This was the beginning of the Doug MacLean era behind the bench.
I only remember the one from last season, that was an exciting time, beating the Avs at home is always a happy day. This is part of the reason why I love being a Blue Jackets fan, I get to watch all the growing pains, and share in the first playoff run, it’s wonderful. The lines for tonight are:
F1: Modin, Brassard, Nash
F2: Chimera, Peca, Zherdev
F3: Murray, Novotny, Boll
F4: Glencross, Malhotra, Vyborny
Vybs on the fourth line? Weird…who would have thought…by the looks of it we’re going to try to run four lines tonight. Fritsche and Feds are out Feds has a concussion and Fritsche has a lower back strain.
