Peca = WIN
By Bethany | March 9, 2008
Yeah, I went there, again. Stephen took my title before I even got to post it, but that’s ok. Peca shocked me, by being in the lineup…and he shocked me again by scoring a goal off a beautiful pass from Nikolai Zherdev. My personal player of the game would have to be Rusty Klesla for being a plus-4 on the night. Nikolai Zherdev had another outstanding game, this season really has been so great for him, watching him grow as a player, WOW. Also, I loved how Hitch in his press conference said that Rome had a great game, it’s true he did, I am loving this kid (even more) than I did before.
The first period was an interesting one for sure. Mike Smith played the puck a little too much, and it resulted in Derek Mackenzie’s first NHL goal. David Vyborny, one of the longest serving Jackets, got us on the scoreboard first though, it was so nice to see Vybs score again. The power play was pretty good scoring 2 (okay, ONE, but it was pretty much TWO) power play goals. Thank goodness.
Freddy Mo is still out, man I hope he stays healthy next season. OKT, apparently has some sort of injury according to Rimmer, no word yet from Puck-Rakers as to what it is exactly, I think I may have missed something. Once the post game blog goes up for Puck-Rakers and the Blue Jackets websites gets the quotes up I will have a better post game re-cap.
Thank goodness we won though, eh?
