Peca vs Svitov
By Bethany | January 27, 2008
Over the summer, when I found out Svitov was planning on playing in Russia, I wasn’t too upset. Well, actually I was, I thought he was just giving up on us. Obviously, I didn’t know how good it would be without him. With Svitov playing in Russia we got involved in the Peca situation with the Rangers…and well we won. Adding Peca to our club was one of the best things to happen to us this summer. He plays hard every night. I wanted to take a look at what Svitov has done for his team this year. In 43 games with Omsk Avangard 6 goals 7 assists 107 PIM and is a minus-7. Peca in 36 games with the CBJ has 4 goals and 16 assists and is a minus-1 and 38 PIM. Peca is a must have on our penalty kill and is one of the smartest players on the Blue Jackets (in a club with Feds, Hejda, the list goes on). Anyway, I just thought it’d be interesting to look at the difference between the two. I just hope Svitov doesn’t wanna come back next year…maybe we can re-sign Peca…or sell him at the trade-deadline…if we’re not in the run…but more on that later.
