Oh Captain, My Captain…

While the Columbus Dispatch has been ripping apart the departed Captain of the Blue Jackets, in every single article that they have written since the trade deadline, I have been trying to ignore it to keep my opinion of my favorite player strong. Truth Serum at End of the Bench had a great post on Foote, and also Bob McKenzie wrote a blog about the situation also. I am keeping this short, because I’m not ready to post my opinion just yet. But, when I do, it’ll be a dooooozy.

I know I am completely biased, but the more I read of this, the more it sounds completely bogus.
Foote will get booed next time in Columbus, and undeservedly so. I have seen multiple reports that he went into negotiations in good faith and that the team and him couldn’t come to an agreement on money.
This is all mighty fishy to me. I know it’s not going away, but this goes completely out of character for Foote. I know it’s possible but it’s not likely

Jibbles~I am with you. I refuse to boo Foote, I don’t believe any of it, Truth said some great stuff in his article, a lot of the stuff soooo similar to what they did to Z last year. Foote is a great leader, and is my favorite Avs player now. He will always be one of my favorite guys in the league. <3
