NKU 10 EKU 6
By Bethany | February 2, 2008
Well, I am home…and my voice is almost gone after the night I had. EKU and their THREE goalies were in town. It was a great game, EKU scored first with a quick goal, and I quickly noticed that the only two people I knew on the team were Captain Karl and the Assistant JBarr, which ended up being just fine. Karl scored two quick goals off the faceoffs and NKU went up 2-1. The EKU goaltender attempted to play the puck in the beginning of the second period but ended up pulling a *Ty Conklin* and made a mistake and left, I believe JBarr with a wide open net. Midway through the second period the Norsemen went up 7-5…the first EKU goaltender was pulled, #35 Mark Hinton was pulled. He was replaced by #34, Ryan McNutt, while third string goalie, Joe Del Prince looked on. It was absolutely hilarious to watch as the goaltenders cheered every single time McNutt made a stop. But we were able to get 3 goals in on him in the third period. And ended up winning the game 10-6.
It was great to see how much our drunken frat boys fans cheered on the boys on the ice. It was really nice to be able to yell obscenities without having to worry about being thrown out. Although, the announcer did come on the PA, with his, “Remember, good language is good, and bad language is bad.” I just hope that tonight at the Blue Jackets game, I remember what he said and don’t get thrown out. Go Norse…best of luck to you tonight…sorry I can’t be there…make sure no fights break out.

College hockey is the absolute best for that. Last week we played the Ferris Bulldogs and at one point we did a cheer that involved spelling “V I C K” and chanting “Kill the dogs, kill the dogs, kill the dogs.” Seriously, leave it to the college kids.

Haha, that would be good times, I should have gone to the game last night, that way I wouldn’t have to see the most pathetic excuse for a hockey game ever played in Nationwide Arena.
