Michael Arace confronts Colin Campbell…
By Bethany | January 28, 2008
Yup, Arace was down in Atlanta for the All Star Game and decided to talk to Mr. Campbell about Leclaire being left out of the All Star Game. Campbell gave the following reasons for Pazzy’s snub:
1. “We like to try to get a representative from each team.” (Admirable, but not fair in every case.)
2. “The Stanley Cup champions should be well represented.” (Last year, the Carolina Hurricanes had two representatives, Eric Staal and Justin Williams, and Williams was a late add. This year, the Anaheim Ducks have four, including late addition Scott Niedermayer, who has played 19 games since coming out of retirement. So, which year did the league get it right?)
3. “We like to make sure teams that are doing well this year are well represented.” (Detroit has three representatives – all of them starters – one of them, goaltender Chris Osgood, who plays in a platoon.)
4. “For people who come to the games and pay a lot of money for tickets and travel, they want to see true, year-in, year-out All-Stars here.” (I can only take this to mean that Leclaire is not a true All-Star, and Manny Legace is).
Be sure to read the rest of the blog because it really is hilarious. I just thought I should point this out so everyone can see it. Really and truthfully Leclaire is a much better goaltender than some of the other goaltenders. I will leave it at that…I won’t name names…I won’t point out stats…but this season Leclaire is better than most goalies in the league and better than most of them that were in the All Star game. I will leave my bitching about Nash not getting the MVP until tomorrow.

Maybe I’m wrong about LeClaire, but shouldn’t he have AT LEAST been in the young stars game? He’s not that old right?
And yes LeClaire was the biggest snub on the roster. I voted him for starter, but it should have been Luongo, Osgood, and LeClaire for the West goalies.

I thought so…he’s 25 so yea a little older, we do have some young talent on our team, I mean Lucic got in so maybe they should have put Boll in or something.
It really was a huge snub…ugh…I am so bitter and I know the game doesn’t mean anything but there is just no respect for Columbus. I mean good lord…Scott Niedermayer has played in 19 games and is in the All Star Game it’s just a joke.
