It’s today…

Free Agency starts in a little over four hours. Can you handle it? I hate when people say that this is our playoffs, it’s like they’re trying to make us feel better that our team hasn’t made the playoffs yet. It doesn’t help FYI, and it’s not our playoffs, it’s our chance to prove ourselves to the others in the National Hockey League.

The Columbus Blue Jackets are going to be in hot persuit of Mr. Wade Redden. Let’s hope he likes our team. We need a guy like him, and he is pretty much a perfect fit for us. Also, according to Puck-Rakers, we will be making him a “significant” offer. I am sure he will be receiving lots of offers, hopefully coming to the Jackets would intrigue him…and maybe Howson will use one of Bob Hunter’s pickup lines…hopefully this one:

The Blue Jackets have never made the playoffs, so this is your chance to be the star that changes all that.

I like it, makes him have a bit of an ego trip…and he’d go, “Yea, I could be that guy.”

Either way, we need more than just Wade Redden to get a playoff contender going here. We need another defenseman, and a center.

Onto other items of business:

RJ Umberger and Pascal Leclaire need to be signed, soon. I am getting very nervous.
Michael Peca is still not signed, I am getting nervous about that also.
Why does this nonsense have to start at noon? I don’t think I’m patient enough for this.
Duvie Westcott, is an UFA…that makes me sad.
