I’m a happy girl!!
By Bethany | February 24, 2008
I just want to say it was so cool to see Gainey’s #23 raised to the rafters. What an honor to be apart of that. The Montreal Canadiens are such a classy organization and to see Gainey skate out on the ice…WOW. It gave me chills, to see him giving his speech and to see him getting choked up. Shoot even Hitch got choked up!!
Well, the road trip is over…sort of. We shutout the Montreal Canadiens at home and Pascal Leclaire got his ninth shutout of the season with 25 of his closest friends and family in the stands. It was an amazing game for the Blue Jackets, we played like a team, every line was going strong. We communicated well and Pazzy saw every shot. It was absolutely beautiful. I refuse to make this post about the deadline and it’s becoming really hard.
Here’s some random thoughts:
- Rick Nash like Kirsten and I have been talking about has become an amazing player to watch. He scored his 33rd goal of the season last night. He’s a monster!!!!!!!!
- Sergei Fedorov left the game with a leg injury and never returned. *I really hope this doesn’t hurt his trade value* I love the guy but he’s as good as gone.
- Manny Malhotra scored his first goal in 20 something games it was nice to see him on the board again.
- Andrew Murray, the guy who is just so fun to watch and see him develop, also got on the scoreboard. This guy is a beauty!!
- Pazzy again was just outstanding. Not an All Star my ass!
- Michael Peca made a beautiful pass to help Nash score the game winner. It was great…such a beauty. Why are we not re-signing this guy yet?!
- Jared Boll in that fight…how funny was it when he dropped him on his head?! HAHA!!
So all in all it was the perfect game and we’ll see

I’ve always liked Bob Gainey. He used to live across the street from me when he GM/coached the North Stars…of course they left when I was like 2 or 3 so, I have no memory of it. Which is unfortunate.

He really is an amazing man. Man you should have been born earlier so you could have talked to him and get all of his secrets, secrets of being a hockey god.

I’m sad that the Habs lost, but RICK NASH! Yay fantasy team! Is it bad that one of my favorite things about Michael Peca is how fun his name is to say?

I know I went into shock for about 5 minutes when my mom said that so nonchalantly. And now no pro athletes of any kind live within a good radius of me. sigh.

Kirsten~I know right? He was really good last night…and oh Peca…his name is fun…but he is fun to look at. I really need to stop squeeing over my team…this is getting ridiculous!!
Loser Domi~First of all I love your name. Second of all, I know right?! I was going to put a Gainey picture up and then I found that and I was like I must have it!
Elise~I hate when mothers do that, sheesh don’t they get it. I’m pretty sure most of the Cyclones boys live about 10 minutes from me haha.
