A loss to Detroit…
By Bethany | March 23, 2008
“I know you try to win and lose as a team, but our captain tried to carry us on his back and he didn’t have enough people going with him. He tried to win the game by himself - he tried to drag as many people into the fight as he could. We didn’t have enough people dragged in.”
Well, it was a tough game to watch (literally, I was at my Aunt’s house and there were kids everywhere) but what I did see I was not impressed with. Pavel Datsyuk got a short handed goal; the fourth short handed goal we have given up this season. It was unacceptable. Ken Hitchcock made it very clear that our Captain, Rick Nash, was the only one that cared about the game, about winning, and he proved it by scoring the Jackets only goal, his 38th of the season.
Freddy Norrena had a tough night, he was caught out of position and flopping around quite a bit most of the night…maybe because Hasek was across the ice at him!? I don’t know but he needs to get better.
“It’s just going to make it that much more harder, we’re already in a hole. We’re pretty much going to have to win out. We can’t be losing anymore games; we have to play desperate with a lot more energy. If we want to do this we have to believe in ourselves.”

The Jackets should have been ready to play, we should have been rested, but we weren’t we came out flat. Pathetic.
Post game videos after the jump.
