    It’s over.

    By Bethany | April 7, 2008

Wow, with that loss, the Blue Jackets season is finished. It is a great feeling for me personally, the Blue Jackets exceeded my expectations. We played very well at the beginning of the year, and well up until the All Star Break had played our best hockey. Anyway, about the game. Keith Tkachuk scored his 500th NHL goal. He was showered by boo’s and probably rightfully so. I wish I could have been there, to boo, but in my heart, I would be cheering. What an accomplishment for such a great player. I think this quote by Peca says it the best:

“We just couldn’t get the breaks to go our way. It seemed to be the case down the stretch of the season where even games that we probably deserved to win, we just weren’t getting the breaks and seemed to have ones go against us. That’s the way it goes. We competed real hard, we never gave up. We had half our team up from Syracuse and we continued to battle and push each other. Unfortunately, we just couldn’t win to put more smiles on the (fans’) faces.”

It’s over Blue Jackets fans. It’s over. Put a smile on and get ready for the off season. It is going to be a doozy. The videos are going to be after the jump so check them out.

FANtastic FANale…for the record…this totally made me cry.

I am not being sarcastic at all here, but that has to be the best feeling 13th place finish ever. I”mean the BJs looked like a good team that just faded some down the stretch.

I fully expect them to improve this offseason. If they were in the East they probably would have contended for a playoff spot

It did feel pretty good looking back. The last few weeks were really really hard though. We will improve we just need a few key pieces and luckily we have the cap space to do it. I am still really thankful that we didn’t get Richards, I know there is a better piece out there.

I was at the game and the boos were for the way the Blues celebrated after Tkachuk scored an empty netter. I don’t think very many there (myself included) realized it was his 500th goal, and nothing was announced until a couple minutes later. By that time, we were already in a foul mood. ;-)

Jeff I was surprised they didn’t say anything about it. I knew because I read some articles on it, and my moms man friend is a huge Blues fan so I tend to follow them a bit. And, well Jackets fans had a right to be in a bad mood…or something like that.
